Ladies and gentlemen,

I’m grateful to have this opportunity offered by the organizers of U.S. & China Forum to introduce Wuchang University of Technology (WUT) and its investor China Guangxin Science & Education Group Co., Ltd.

First, I’d like to briefly introduce Wuchang University of Technology. It is a private university for higher education approved by the Ministry of Education. It is located in “Wuhan-China Optical Valley”, adjoining to the mountain and surrounded by the lake, it has graceful environment and joyful scenery. And it is honored as one of “National Top 10 Beautiful Campuses”. After over 10 years’ development, it has become multi-disciplinary in harmonious development taking engineering and management as the core subjects. The university has set up 10 Schools and covers 55 specialties with more than 12,500 undergraduates. In 2009, the university is the only private school to win the second prize of National Teaching Achievements. In 2010, it has been approved by the State Council as a model university for national educational system reform. It takes the task of pilot reform --"Innovation of talents cultivating mode in private universities" and it is the only private university to bear the comprehensive pilot reform. The university has been honored “The National Top 100 in Graduates’ Employment Competiveness”, “Most Competitive Brand in China”, “No.1 of National Top 10 Private Universities”, and one of “The Most Popular Private Universities”, etc.

What encouraged us most is that WUT has developed partnerships with USU and they will hold a signing ceremony later. The two universities will join hands to establish Wuhan -Utah State University in Wuhan. This is not only a completely new cooperation mode but also a fresh try to explore educational reform in China. The advanced educational concepts and methods will be recommended to cultivate Chinese students. And Chinese students will be the talents who can meet social demands and bear all kinds of challenges as well.

To set up Wuhan-Utah State University is the common aspiration of our two universities and it got the full support of the local governments. As the letter that Senator Orrin G. Hatch sent to Hubei Governor Wang Guosheng said that the establishment of Wuhan-Utah State University will be a milestone in the history of educational collaboration between China and United States and it also newly bridges friendship between the two countries. In the reply letter sent to Senator Orrin G. Hatch, Hubei Governor Wang Guosheng stated that Hubei government will spare no efforts to support the establishment of Wuhan-Utah State University. Governor Herbert in Utah also expressed his supports in the letter to Chinese state councilor Mrs. Liu Yandong. Wuhan government attaches great importance to support this collaboration. Mr. Yueyong, vice mayor of Wuhan, took his time to attend the U.S. & China Forum and had a brilliant speech here. He will be present in the signing ceremony between WUT and USU later. At present, please allow me to express my heartfelt thanks to Senator Orrin G. Hatch, Governor Gary.Herbert, Lt. Governor Bell and Wuhan Vice Mayor Yueyong. We hope that Wuhan-Utah State University will be set up in accordance with the world first-rate standard. In the near future, we invite all of you here today to be present at the inaugural ceremony of Wuhan-Utah State University.

Now I’d like turn to Guangxin Science & Education Group Co., Ltd, the investor of both WUT and future Wuhan-Utah State University. It was founded in 1993 and is a large-scale group corporation, engaged in financial investment, biological pharmacy, higher education, real estate development, tourism development and green food development, hotel management, construction, property management, etc. As the president of this group, I hope to seek more opportunities to cooperate with corporations in United States. In the interest of mutual benefits and win-win cooperation, we contribute to the development of Chinese and American culture, education and international trade.

This April, President Stan.Albrecht of USU invited me to visit Utah and USU. We were impressed by the beautiful natural scenery of Utah and the distinguished achievements there. We also appreciate USU for its long history, beautiful campus, academic achievements and the major contribution to society. We will learn the industrious bees’ spirit of Utah to achieve the common goal between WUT and USU and contribute to the China & U.S. never-ending friendship.

My dear ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Wuhan. Welcome to Guangxin Group! Welcome to Wuchang University of Technology!

女士们、先生们：

非常感谢中美文化、教育和经贸论坛主办方给我这次机会，向各位朋友介绍中国武昌理工学院及其投资公司中国广信科教集团有限公司。

武昌理工学院是经中国教育部批准设立的普通本科高校，地处中国武汉，学校依山傍水，环境优美，被中国网友评为“中国十所最美校园”之一。经过十余年发展，已成为一所以工学、管理学为主，多学科协调发展的知名私立高校。学校设有10个学院，开设55个专业，在校学生12500余人。2009年，学校获国家级教学成果二等奖，是中国唯一获此殊荣的私立高校；2010年中国政府批准学校为国家教育体制改革试点单位，承担“创新私立高校高素质人才培养模式”的改革试点任务，是中国唯一一所承担综合性改革试点的私立高校。学校先后荣获“中国高校毕业生就业竞争力100强”、“中国私立高校最具竞争力著名品牌”、“中国私立高校十强第一名”、“中国最受欢迎的私立大学之一”等荣誉。

最值得高兴的是，我校与美国犹他州立大学建立了合作伙伴关系，并将举行签约仪式。两校将在中国武汉共同创建武汉犹他州大学。这是一种全新的中美合作办学模式，也是我们探索中国教育改革的新尝试。我们将引进美国先进的办学理念和教学方法，使中国学生成为能适应时代需求，能接受各种挑战的国际化人才。

创办武汉犹他州大学，不仅是我们两校的共同心愿，而且也得到了双方地方政府的全力支持。正如参议员奥林.哈奇在给湖北省王国生省长的信中所说的那样，武汉犹他州大学的创立将成为中美教育合作史上的一个里程碑，它将为中美友谊搭起一座新的桥梁。中国湖北省省长王国生先生在给美国参议员奥林.哈奇先生的回信中表示湖北省政府将全力支持武汉犹他州大学的创办；犹他州州长加利.赫伯特先生在给中国国务委员刘延东女士的信中也表达了犹他州政府对创办武汉犹他州大学的全力支持。武汉市政府为表达对这一项目的支持，副市长岳勇先生在百忙中出席论坛并作了精彩的演讲，还将出席两校的签约仪式。在此，请允许我向奥林.哈奇议员先生、赫伯特州长先生、贝尔副州长先生和武汉市岳勇副市长表示衷心的感谢。我们希望武汉犹他州大学按照世界一流大学的标准建设，在不久的将来，我们能邀请在座的各位嘉宾出席武汉犹他州大学的揭牌典礼。

作为武昌理工学院和未来武汉犹他州大学的投资方，中国广信科教集团有限公司创建于1993年，是一家从事金融投资、生物制药、高等教育、房地产开发、旅游开发、绿色食品开发、酒店经营、建筑及物业管理等行业的大型集团公司。作为集团公司董事长，我希望能在美国寻求更多的合作机会。本着互利互惠，合作共赢的原则，与美国公司开展合作，为中美文化、教育和贸易的发展作出贡献。

今年4月，应犹他州立大学阿布莱奇校长的邀请，我访问了犹他州和犹他州立大学。对犹他州美丽的自然风光和卓著的发展成就留下了深刻的印象，对犹他州立大学的悠久历史、美丽校园、学术成就和对社会的重大贡献表示钦佩。我们要学习犹他州勤劳的蜜蜂精神，为实现两校的共同目标，为中美友谊长存作出我们的贡献。

女生们、先生们，我热忱欢迎大家到中国武汉作客、欢迎到广信科教集团有限公司、到武昌理工学院作客。
